I'm 23 years old and I've been with Doctor
Howalt for about a year now after being addicted to opiates, as recreational
use, for about four years. I really thought I would have to go through
my whole life being dependent on opiates and always looking for my next high,
while always wanting more. It was never enough, I was never satisfied.
This became a miserable life to lead. I had been to rehab three times
and been through outpatient counseling but it never worked, I'd always go back
to getting high.
Then I started treatment with Dr.
Howalt. Prior to coming to the San Luis Obispo Addiction Recovery Center
the longest I had ever been sober was three months. Now I've been sober for
over a year and I'm enjoying life more than ever! Treatment with
Suboxone works! Thanks to Suboxone I have had no craving or desire to
abuse opiates, which is just crazy unbelievable! My family and I have
never been closer and I actually have "real" friends and people that actually
trust me instead of people I just get high with and. I've been getting
straight A's in school which used to be C's, D's or F's, usually because I
would just drop out. More than anything I'm way proud of myself and
forever grateful to the people who've helped me become sober. I actually have
an exciting future ahead of me, and it does not include looking for my next
high.
